Alan Pickering Managing Director After completing an engineering diploma in England in 1974, Alan bought his first boat in 1978 which started his life long passion for every aspect of boating. After a 6 year career in the marine engineering field offshore, Alan completed a 12 year period as a professional yachtsman, on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean and throughout the India Ocean. ProMetheus Marine was established in 1990 shortly after Alan arrived in Singapore from Japan aboard the famous classic yacht “Cariad”. |
During the 1990’s Alan oversaw the design and construction of a numbers of large yacht projects for several clients as part of his general consultancy services.In 2000 Alan co founded Simpson Marine Pte Ltd as a Director and Shareholder for 8 years before continuing the activities of ProMetheus Marine Pte Ltd is the fields of yacht sales, yacht charter, yacht support, yacht management and marina development. Lyn Pickering Resource Manager - Charter Lyn started in the marine industry in 1980. She has sailed extensively on yachts, in many parts of the world, with her experience being Asia-based since 1989.She brings a woman’s perspective to the team, and is knowledgeable about planning and sailing long passages, having participated in many ocean crossings herself. With her practical and creative skills she has been involved in a number of refits on Classic yachts, including galley design. Lyn is keen to show women and families the joys of boat ownership and has planned and catered many sailing days for ladies. She now manages Promarine’s charter business in Singapore. Craig Marcombe Project Director Craig spent 22 years in the Royal Australian Navy in an extremely diverse career, encompassing ship navigation, helicopter aviation and management consulting. Whilst there he also completed a Masters degree in Management Economics. After ‘retiring’ from the Navy in 1997, he constructed and owner/managed several tourist resorts in Vanuatu in the South Pacific. In 2001 he took delivery of a 55 foot sailing catamaran in Perth. He sailed his boat from Perth to SE Asia shortly thereafter, and he has been living in the region ever since.
